A Community Benefit clause is one of a range of socialclauses that can be included in public contracts and which isseeing increasing use in the public sector both in Scotland aswell as the rest of the UK. While grants and donations to goodcauses have a long established history in both the public andprivate sectors, despite the economic downturn, procurementis now increasingly being seen as a dynamic tool to deliversocial change and added value, through buying goods andservices from social enterprises.
